Rittal in the News – Summer 2015
October 6, 2015 / by Rittal Marketing

It was a hot summer outdoors this year and a busy summer indoors this year, as journalists at many trade and manufacturing publications courted Rittal on our innovative enclosure products and involvement in the Industrial Internet of Things.

We were delighted to oblige inquisitive writers and pretty excited to see the work they produced as a result. Below are some highlights and links to coverage Rittal received from trusted media partners in June, July and August of 2015.

Author Jennifer Calhoon of Design World wrote a smart piece in June that anticipates the growing need for data security for information collected through the IIoT process. Ms. Calhoon addressed micro data centers and our very own TS IT in the article, which we thought was some great exposure for our modular IT enclosure solution. Some really interesting ideas are explored in this article – Check out the Design World coverage here. July gave Jim Montague, Executive Editor of Control Magazine, a strong opportunity to pen an excellent plant profile piece for its sister publication, Plant Services.

Covering our Urbana, Ohio manufacturing facility and even featuring some fine photography of its interiors and skilled employees, Mr. Montague reported on our history, facility specs and production output. Jim then covered our numerous machining centers, including the much-utilized Perforex BC 1007 automated, panel-fabrication machine that helps us fabricate so many of our off-the-shelf “custom” offerings. Take a look at thePlant Services profile piece here.

Lastly, in August, Rittal’s own IT Systems Engineer Tim Siegel wrote a serious article mixing business and science together in order to explain the calculations for cooling IT data centers, titled cleverly enough, Calculating the Costs of Cooling Transparently. With colorful charts and an enlargeable image from Rackspace data center in Crawley, U.K., Tim’s article for DatacenterDynamics should make his professors at university proud. We’re certainly proud of him for stepping-up for Rittal and being a thought leader in the industry – thanks Tim. You can read the article in DatacenterDynamics here.

There were actually quite a few more pieces in publications dedicated to Rittal and our technologies. We’re thankful to our many media partners that wrote about us during the hot summer of 2015.
