[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Schaumburg, IL – October 29, 2015 – Rittal Corporation (www.rittal.us), the world’s largest enclosure manufacturer and a leader in competent thermal management of electrical, electronic and IT equipment, has developed a harsh environment 316 stainless steel version of its best-selling and flagship product, the TS 8 enclosure.
With more than 10 million TS 8 units sold around the globe to date, the TS 8 is currently in use in 92 percent of the world’s 1,005 branches of industry, housing and protecting electronic equipment utilized for data centers, facility management, industrial automation and power distribution. The TS 8 is found in market sectors ranging from food/beverage and manufacturing to chemical, medical and wind power. The addition of the 316 stainless steel iteration of the TS 8 extends the cabinet’s applications to oil and gas and water supply/wastewater management installations.
“Many industries have been looking for a more rugged version of our flexible and modular TS 8 that can endure harsh settings where corrosion is a fact of life,” explains Glenn Wishnew, Senior Product Manager at Rittal. “316 stainless steel meets that need while still allowing the TS 8 to deliver on its design innovations – namely, expandability via baying, lower weight for reduced transportation costs, 30 percent more mounting space within, and far easier assembly and disassembly for reduced labor costs and time. It’s a smart and potent addition to the TS 8 arsenal that we are confident will be very popular with our customers,” he added.
The UL Type 4X modular enclosure system provides unsurpassed flexibility, strength, durability and scalability in a freestanding enclosure cabinet that can also be connected to other TS 8s for countless configurations. The superior stainless steel 316 alloy offers excellent resistance to high temperatures, common chlorides (such as salt present in seawater), as well as chemicals like sulfuric acid, bromides, iodides, and fatty acids. Stainless steel 316 is also resistant to stress cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion.
